What the session covers
Predictive, generative, and agentic capabilities are usually procured separately and discussed as competing options. In an enterprise process they are complementary, and the useful question is which mode carries which step. This recorded session works through that allocation on a single invoice exception process.
Prediction handles the classification and forecasting work, where a scored answer is enough. Generation handles the drafting work, where a person still reviews the output before it leaves the organisation. An agent handles the execution work, where a decision has to be carried into a system of record, and that is the point at which governance stops being optional.
Where the governance line sits
The session is explicit about the controls BCS requires before an agent is allowed to write to a system of record:
- Reversibility. Every automated action has a defined compensating transaction.
- Approval thresholds. Value, risk, and exception-type boundaries determine what an agent may complete unattended.
- Attribution. Each action is logged against the workflow, the policy that authorised it, and the data it relied on.
Without those three properties, an agentic deployment produces speed that the control environment cannot account for, and the first internal audit finding removes the benefit.
